Joining & Taking Photos

How do I join an event?

To join an event, scan the QR code displayed by your event host, or visit the event URL and enter the 6-character event code. No account is required — enter your name and you are ready to shoot.

Do I need to download an app to participate?

No download is required to participate as a guest. You can join and take photos directly in your mobile browser at join.scenedisposable.com. An iOS app is also available on the App Store for the best experience.

How many photos can I take?

The number of photos each guest can take is set by the event host. You will see your remaining shot count on the camera screen. Once you have used all your shots, you can still view the gallery after the reveal.

Can I retake or delete a photo I just took?

Once a photo is captured, it is saved and queued for upload. You can delete your own photos from the gallery at any time, but you cannot undo the shot itself. Think of it like a real disposable camera.

Why is the camera not working in my browser?

Make sure you have granted camera permission to your browser. On iPhone, go to Settings > Safari > Camera and set it to Allow. On Android, tap the lock icon in the address bar and enable Camera. If the issue persists, try reloading the page or using the iOS app instead.

Photo Reveal & Gallery

When will I be able to see the photos?

Photos are revealed at a specific time chosen by the event host. Until then, all photos remain locked and hidden. You will see a countdown timer indicating how long until the reveal. Once the time passes, the full gallery is unlocked for everyone.

How do I access the gallery?

Visit the same event URL you used to join (or scan the QR code again) and navigate to the gallery. On the iOS app, the gallery is accessible from the event screen. You need to be a participant of the event to view the gallery.

Can I download the photos?

Yes. After the reveal, you can download individual photos or the entire gallery as a ZIP file. Look for the download button in the gallery view.

Why can I see my own photos but not others?

Before the reveal time, you can only see photos you personally captured. All other participants' photos remain hidden until the host-set reveal time passes. This is the core "disposable camera" experience.

Account & Sessions

Do I need an account to use The Disposable?

Guest participants do not need an account. Your session is tied to your device. Event hosts can sign in with Apple or Google to create and manage events, but even this is optional for basic use.

I lost access to my event on this device. What can I do?

If you cleared your browser data, reinstalled the app, or switched devices, your session may have been reset. Unfortunately, anonymous sessions cannot be recovered once the device data is cleared. If you are a host, sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used originally to regain access.

How do I sign out?

On iOS, go to Settings within the app and tap Sign Out. This clears your authentication tokens and session data from the device. Your photos and events remain on the server and can be accessed again by signing back in.

Can I use The Disposable on multiple devices?

Guest sessions are device-specific, so photos taken on one device are not automatically accessible on another device without an account. If you are a host, signing in with the same Apple or Google account on any device gives you access to your events.

Privacy & Data

Who can see my photos?

Only participants of the same event can view photos in the gallery, and only after the reveal time. Photos are not publicly searchable or accessible without knowing the event code.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual photos from the gallery at any time. If you are the event host, you can delete the entire event and all its photos from the event settings. To request complete deletion of all your data from our servers, email us at dragonitelab@gmail.com.

Does the app collect my location?

No. The Disposable does not request or collect location data at any point.

How is my data stored and protected?

All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and encrypted at rest in our cloud infrastructure. On iOS, authentication tokens are stored securely in the Keychain. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Hosting Events

How do I create an event?

Download The Disposable iOS app from the App Store. Sign in with Apple or Google, tap Create Event, and follow the setup steps. You can configure the event name, cover photo, film style filter, shots per guest, participant limit, and reveal time.

Can I change the reveal time after creating an event?

Yes. As the event host, you can update the reveal time from the event settings at any time before the reveal occurs.

How do guests join my event?

Share the QR code or the event URL with your guests. They can scan the QR code or visit the link and enter the event code. You can display the QR code on your phone, print it, or include it in event invitations.

Can I increase the participant limit for my event?

Yes. You can upgrade the participant capacity for an event through an in-app purchase. Capacity tiers are available in the app. The free tier supports up to 5 participants.

Technical Issues & Bugs

My photos are not uploading. What should I do?

Photos are uploaded in the background. Make sure you have an active internet connection. On iOS, keep the app open for a moment to allow uploads to complete. If the issue persists, reopen the app — it will retry pending uploads automatically.

The app is crashing or behaving unexpectedly.

Try force-closing and reopening the app. If the problem continues, uninstall and reinstall the app from the App Store. If neither resolves the issue, please email us at dragonitelab@gmail.com with a description of the problem and your device model and iOS version.

How do I report a bug?

Email us at dragonitelab@gmail.com with as much detail as possible: what you were doing, what happened, your device model, iOS or browser version, and any screenshots. We review all bug reports and respond as quickly as possible.

Request Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of all your personal data from our servers at any time. To submit a deletion request, email dragonitelab@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm when deletion is complete.

You can also delete individual photos and events directly in the app without contacting us. See our Privacy Policy for full details on your rights and how we handle your data.
